We are often reminded that the church is a worldwide institution.
Here, in the Thames Valley, we are very much a mix of cultures but if you come to the UK from abroad, particularly for university, it can be hard to make friends, integrate and feel truly welcome.
A church in East Reading is this week doing what it can to change that by hosting a fortnight of special friendship meetings that it is calling Reading International Café.
This is a joint initiative between Wycliffe Baptist Church, Friends International and UCCF.
It runs Monday to Friday from Monday, July 17, to Friday, July 28, from 7.30pm-10pm.
Each evening there will be games, conversations, food, an optional Bible study and the chance to make friends.
It takes place at Wycliffe Baptist Church in East Reading and everyone is welcome, regardless of country you come from.
