More than 20 artists’ will be selling and exhibiting their handmade books at Bookface, Chapter 5 on Sunday October 12 at Rising Sun Arts Centre in Reading.
The books range from the very large to extremely tiny and all are handmade. They are created in different forms and materials and include illustrations, printmaking, comic book drawings, collage, interactive sketch books, poetry, sculpture installations, vintage bindings and more.
Throughout the day there will be bookmaking workshops, poetry readings, children’s activities as well as live classical music with Maija Tuomi-Nikula, a one page book drop in sessions with Jaz Meader called ‘How was your journey?’ and a ‘create a comic’ drawing workshop with Stephanie O’Brien.
The Café bar will be open with homemade snacks and organic beers.
The exhibition will be on Sunday 12 October 2014 at 11am – 5pm. Entry is free.
